Subject The article considers the problems of development of competitive technologies in the economy of regions in the Russian Federation.
     Objectives
The aim of the study is to develop proposals on the most promising lines of intensifying the innovation processes in regions.
Methods A methodological basis of the work is the systemization and analysis of theoretical and methodological guidelines and information materials from works by domestic scholars and researchers on issues of organization of scientific and innovation processes and innovative development of regions and territories.
Results I propose certain perspective directions of organization of innovation processes, which should be accompanied by the introduction of organizational and managerial, scientific, technological, industrial-technological and infrastructural innovation. I provide a detailed analysis of the proposed directions for organization of innovation processes and set forward certain proposals on enhancing the scientific and innovation activity, taking into account the domestic and foreign experiences in developed countries: United States, Germany, Japan, and China.
Conclusions I conclude that the available potential of the Republic of Bashkortostan, in comparison with the neighboring regions, is not fully used to further develop the innovation activity of the region. The implementation of the proposed measures to organize innovative processes will allow regions to identify and use the competitive advantages of their territories, to form the innovation development priorities, and achieve a sustainable socio-economic growth in the long term for the future.
