Importance The paper considers the industrial development of the Tyva Republic for 1990-2013.
     Objectives The aim is to identify the factors constraining and promoting the industrial sector's development; identify ways to improve the industrial policy in conditions of modernization of socio-economic systems; justify the conceptual development of the industry in the long term.
     Methods For the study, we used factor and economic-statistical analyses.
     Results We have analyzed the development stages of the industrial complex of the region in terms of market economic system. We propose our own tested methodology to calculate and analyze the susceptibility of the region to determine main directions of management of socio-economic processes in the region. We revealed the most perspective areas of development management of the industrial production in the Tyva Republic.
     Conclusions We conclude of a necessity of system-based determining the strategic directions of development of the industry of the Tyva Republic in the framework of the concept of development of the industry until 2030.
