Subject The article deals with the diversity of organizational and economic forms of farming which has arisen objectively and is represented as a private individual, collective, public, and mixed enterprise. Objectives The aim of the paper is to develop proposals for the establishment of an effective mechanism to support agriculture. Methods We used the methods of statistical data analysis, analysis of materials from individual households' reports for 2006-2013, and budget performance, SWOT analysis of the assessment of the institutional capacity of internal and external factors influencing the strategy of agro-industrial complex of the region. Results The paper shows that at present, the different lifestyles in the agriculture industry with the right specialization are not competitive, therefore, they have equal rights to get a support from the State. Conclusions and Relevance Every enterprise of agricultural production should choose a form of management on its own. This requires structuring the functions of public authorities at various levels and of municipal government in the regulation of agricultural production. The results of this research can be used in the system of State regulation and support of the agro-industrial complex, taking into account the existing practices in agriculture.
