Subject The article deals with one of the priority directions of optimization of public administration both at the Federal and regional levels, i.e. Regulatory Impact Assessment. Objectives The goal of the article is to develop recommendations to improve the implementation of the Regulatory Impact Assessment in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Methods I analyzed certain regions of the Russian Federation by selected indicators on implementation of the Regulatory Impact Assessment on the basis of open sources. Results I propose a set of measures to address the identified management problems. Conclusions A further analysis of the implementation of Regulatory Impact Assessment at the regional level will provide an impetus for further research into the formation and development of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The successful implementation of the procedure of evaluation will contribute to the improvement of the investment attractiveness of the region, creation of favorable conditions for doing business, since a large part of the decisions that have an impact on business activities gets adopted by regional and local authorities.
