Importance Economic sanctions the western countries impose on the Russian Federation pursue undermining the economic and political stability. In this respect, it gets even more relevant to investigate the aspects of low productivity in the modern economy of Russia within the sustainable innovative development.
Objectives The research aims at determining directions and the most important phases of increasing labor productivity in order to ensure innovative sustainability. Therefore, the researchers formulate the objectives of the research, i.e. to determine the sequence and substance of steps of making managerial decisions that are fundamental for business operations; to define criteria of employees' performance efficiency and remuneration in line with their productivity; to enhance the performance discipline of employees and top management.
Methods The authors adhere to the principles of the unity of the logical and historical, scientific abstraction, analysis and synthesis, analogy and generalization.
Results The research identifies management bottlenecks, i.e. unclear relation between the performance efficiency and remuneration of employees; low performance discipline and managerial culture, absence of effective interaction of various management levels. The researchers make a number of suggestions regarding the elimination of those weaknesses. The article sets out an algorithm for managing the performance of tasks through ongoing monitoring and response to the final results. The mechanism will be equally effective in any sector. Promptness, timeliness and target are the key requirements to ensure the effectiveness of this mechanism. The authors also elaborate and propose an algorithm of performance evaluation criteria. The article substantiates a need for managing structures to work proactively and foresee how the future trends may unfold.
Conclusions and Relevance The proposed algorithms, patterns and methods may be applied in corporate management and corporate efficiency control to improve labor productivity, withstand the sanctions imposed and significantly contribute to the sustainability of innovative development of the Russian economy.
