Importance The article discusses the relationship of such scientific categories as security and stability. Objectives I underline that security is a status of an object's safety that contributes to its sustainable development. At the same time, economic development is primary and it should create conditions to ensure the status of an object protection. Methods The article presents the results of evaluation techniques, which I have developed to assess the consumption market condition from the perspective of its security and financial safety of a region. I propose to use an indicative method of analysis to resolve the tasks of diagnostics of the consumer market of a region taking into account its security. In line with this approach, the security diagnostics is carried out according to the multitude of criteria indexes - indicators, which enable to quantify the existence, nature and level of threat manifestation and its dynamics. The level and nature of threat manifestation to economic security are assessed by comparing the actual values of indicators with their threshold values. Results The obtained results enable to conclude that the analyzed blocks (consumer market, financial and economic security) are interrelated. At the same time, the analysis of the specified components leads to the conclusion that climate changes (crop yield) and globalization processes (reduction of tariffs and duties) influence the change in consumer market indicators from the position of its safety. The economic cycles (the crisis of economy, which results in a change of financial indicators) also affect the financial security dynamics. The novelty of these techniques is registration of the existing threats and an integrated approach. I used unique databases, which are created on the basis of extensive official statistics and my own research. Conclusion and Relevance The developed methodologies and the findings can be used by the State and municipal authorities for analytical purposes.
