Subject New tourist regional centers, which, using modern communication technologies and features of their countries, are promoting themselves on the world market, are of most interest to the analysis. Nigeria is the largest country in terms of population and GDP in Africa. In recent years, the Government of Nigeria has adopted a set of measures to promote tourism.
Objectives The goal of the paper is to study the experience of Nigeria in the field of tourism for its popularization and use in other countries.
Methods The study of the materials is based on the use of the methods of statistical, normative and empirical analyses.
Results The results of the work should include the following regional development lessons: first, the development of tourism must go through the private sector, including international hotel chains, airlines and companies of the infrastructure industries. Second, it is appropriate to establish a centralized public-private Tourism Development Corporation, which will develop routes, coordinate private building of hotels, recreation centers and interaction with international carriers. Third, the methodical techniques of development of the market of tourist services in Nigeria are useful for global use, for example, a search for counterparts of natural attractions (Jos Plateau - Lena Pillars - Stone Pillars of Utah), cultural (organization of beauty contests, ethnographic festivals), historical (archaeological excavations of ancient cities with neighboring States - the capital of the State of Benin), etc.
Application Internal tourism markets of developing countries.
Conclusions and Relevance On the basis of our study, we conclude that tourism is helping to diversify the commodity economy of Nigeria. The extension of tourist activity leads to employment growth in the economy (taking into account the climatic conditions of the country, it is a guaranteed year-round employment). The development of tourism encourages the development of local infrastructure, which serves as a catalyst for the economic development of the country.
