The author points out that the approaches used in the drawing-up of the programs of tourist complexes development of regions are not always sufficiently justified from a scientific point of view. The structuring of knowledge about the needs of tourists is a necessary element of analysis, which must be preceded by the elaboration of the tourist industry program development in the region, and it serves as its scientific substantiation. The beach-related rest and tourism, with no exaggeration, are the most widespread types of the domestic and outbound tourism in the Russian Federation. Currently, the beach holidays and tourism situation in the Primorsky Krai is developing spontaneously. Such an uncontrolled development contradicts to the principles of sustainable development of the coastal areas. The paper considers the methodical approaches to the analysis of the questionnaires data obtained from the beach tourism consumers, which constitutes the largest segment of tourism in the Primorsky Krai. As the result of the monitoring data analysis, the author identifies a number of the specific typologies that have the common properties for beach and bathing rest, which is popular in the Russian regions. The different experts were engaged with the purpose to identify the typologies. The study of the structuring data provided by various experts has demonstrated the very similar results. The problem of delivering the vacationers to the beach areas is among the most important issues pertaining to the beach-related rest and tourism. The author points out that currently, this issue is underestimated. This article provides a generalized sampling of the proposals made by the Primorsky Krai inhabitants in order to improve the transport services for the delivery of holidaymakers in the beach areas and recreation zones of the Primorsky Krai. The author emphasizes that the quantitative evaluations of the structure of the consumer cycles of beach-related tourism, create the conditions for drawing-up the efficient strategy of development of this kind of travel in combination with other forms of tourism, which are popular in the Primorsky Krai.
