Importance The theory of cyclic economy states that crises in the economy are inevitable. For any sovereign country, the food security problem during this period is of major importance. In view of this, the world leading countries have a high level of self-sufficiency in food products. But some countries do not. For example, the Kyrgyz Republic cannot ensure a high level of basic food production for the population. Objectiv My purpose is to analyze the provision of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic with the basic foodstuffs, suggest ways to solve this problem by combining the efforts of a number of countries in the regional integration economic space, and ensure the food security of the Union and in times of crisis in the economy. Methods On the basis of analysis of the basic foodstuffs production in the Kyrgyz Republic, I prove the necessity of achieving food security at the regional level. Results I think that the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and supplemented by other countries, later elevated to a major continental macro-region, i.e. Eurasian economic space, could be such a large region in the short time. When creating such a regional structure, it becomes really possible for the whole region to benefit the use of the resource advantages of every particular country included in the Union. Such a regional economic integration could solve the problem of food security of the member-countries of the common economic space and guarantee the food security of the whole region during periods of crisis in the economy. Conclusions and Relevance I have concluded that among the most significant problems of the continental regional association there is a reliable food security system's formation to protect the region from the effects of food, financial and economic world crises.
