Project management in small business: problems and prospects

The article deals with the problems of small and medium-sized businesses in Russia. Small business is the basis of economic stability in the country and plays an important role in its development. Among the major problems of small business, the authors consider the high competition, difficulties in obtaining the necessary funding, problems related to the development of new fields of activity. As one way to overcome the most immediate problems, the article proposes to use the methodology of project management activities in the small and medium-sized businesses. The authors analyze the competitive advantages of small and medium business through the application of the methodology of project management. The article shows the use of a project management methodology will provide competitive advantages at all stages of business in all areas of activity. The authors provide recommendations on the adaptation of methods of project management for small businesses.
