The results of modernization of the institutional framework of territorial management in the first phase of the implementation of the strategy of socio-economic development of the southern federal district up to 2020

The article deals with fundamental aspects of the "Strategy of socio-economic development of the Southern Federal District until 2020". The paper is analyzing the results of the activities for 2011-2013 biennium obtained by the regional authorities to implement the measures planned by RF Government aimed at institutionalizing strategic territorial management as necessary conditions for implementing the district strategy. The study identified possible points of correction of the main strategic document that defines the vector of development of the Southern Federal District for medium- and long-term prospects.
