The exhibition and congress activities in the contemporary world is an effective tool of macroeconomic and investment policy. Such events promote development of various sectors of economy, attract foreign investment, form considerable finance flows, bring in additional income to budgets of all levels, make business more active, stimulate development of regions, competition and innovation, strengthen ties between producers and consumers. The authors systematize various approaches to classification of the factors influencing formation and development of exhibition and congress activity. The authors conclude that it is necessary to evaluate factors the like in due time and neutralize their negative influence, and consider the factors promoting the development of exhibition and congress activities.
