The tendencies of development and investment opportunities of agriculture of the region

The author analyzes the dynamics and current state of agriculture of the Stavropol Krai, one of the largest agrarian regions in Russia. The paper deals with the factors which hinder the region's development, volumes and sources of investing in the region, and changes in the structure of investment sources which have taken place for the last five years. The considerable drop of investing in the region's agricultural sector, determined by the author, and the estimate of the government support of this economic sector result in the conclusion of the necessity to strengthen the government partaking in the region's agriculture investing.
