Role of strategic planning in development of city: approaches to assessment

In the article attempt of carrying out the econometric analysis of dependence of a social and economic development of the city from existence in it the strategic plan is made. The main checked hypothesis is the assumption that the fact of existence of the strategic plan has impact on some characteristics of the city. As characteristics of 18 indicators of a social and economic development of the city are considered. The correlation and regression analysis showed that only at four of them weak statistical communication with the fact of existence and duration of existence of system of strategic planning in the city is observed. On the basis of it the conclusions on the reasons of existence of such communication are drawn.
