In modern economy the innovative component becomes a major factor of competitiveness of goods, the enterprise, economic system. For Russia creation of effective national innovative system – a survival question in the conditions of globalization of world economy. Basis of such system are the regional innovative systems (RIS) which are carrying out certain kinds of activity (generating, development and diffusion of innovations). Authors of article prove that innovative safety is important criterion of efficiency of FIG. In the article the current state of innovative safety of the Republic of Mordovia is analysed, the main risks in the innovative sphere of the region are defined.
