Practices of macroregional planning in the Russian Federation and the European Union

In the article of practices of formation of macroregional strategy of federal districts and territories of the Russian Federation are compared to processes of formation of strategy of the countries of Baltic and Danube in the European Union. It is emphasized that their distinctions are defined by the nature of macroregions: in Russia they are built in a government vertical, and in EU are formed as instruments of achievement of global long-term goals of uniform Europe. Comparison of stages in practice of macroregionalization is carried out to the Russian Federation and the European Union. The further directions of researches the practices of macroregional construction taking into account the developed features of public administration and the budgetary systems of Russia and EU are offered.
