In the article the features of the demographic development of the Arctic zone of the North-Eastern region of Russia are considered. It is analyzed the dynamics and components of changes in population. It is exposed, that the socio-economic development and the problems of population dynamics are interdependent. It is offered measures on improving the demographic situation.
