In the article the analysis of existing approaches to an assessment of a level of development of the region is given. On the basis of the carried-out assessment of financial stability of the subject of the managing, based on a technique of the analysis of a financial condition of the organization, the forecast of further development of the region is made and the type of economic development is defined.
