The paper discusses factors impacting new medical technologies adoption in two Russian regions (Kaluga region and St-Petersburg). On the basis of the results of the interviews with heads of hospitals and with regional authorities the common problems, associated with new medical technologies adoption in both regions are considered. Specific region-related factors impeding innovations are presented.
