Small entrepreneurship as the strategic management object of the regional innovative development

The article studies theoretical aspects of SME functioning in the regional social-economic system in the conditions of it’s transformation. It is proved, that the regional environment determines specific features and scales of the SME development. On the other hand, SME development, partially resulting from the regional environment positive changes, favors the regional economic space optimization and it’s reproductive potential qualitive characteristics improvement.
