Major problems of the municipal bonds market in Russia

The article presents an analysis of formation and development of the market for municipal bonds in Russia in the post-crisis (1998) from 2000 to 2009. The factors influencing the growth of emissions of municipal bonds and liquidity and creditworthiness of issuers. Also analyzed the possibility of issuing Eurobonds. Reflects the results of reform and explored the prospects for further development of this sector of the securities market.
     The article is of interest to specialists in the field of “Municipal Finance” and recommended the publication in a scientific journal “Regional economy”.
