The typology of peripheral regions and particularly the periphery of the boundary

The article is devoted to updating and modifying the content of regional policy of strengthening the coherence of economic space and a shift of focus to address the problems of peripheral regions. The paper presents the concept of the peripheral region, presented their typology in the context of the model "center-periphery" and shows the specificity of this class of peripheral regions, such as border regions that make up a special task force of state regional policy. The article is devoted to updating and modifying the content of a regional policy of strengthening the coherence of economic space and entry into the system of global exchanges, as well as part of a shift of focus to address the problems of peripheral regions and alignment of their development. The recommendations on the formation of the content of regional policy with respect to the peripheral border regions new North-West Russia.
