In presented article authors investigate the character of social and the economic development in Chechen Republic in 2009. Having done the comparative analysis with adjacent regions as a part of Southern federal district of its development last years place taken. Have revealed the basic problems on a way of development in Chechen Republic. On the basis of the analysis` system of development in republic conclusions and offers which can serve as a reference point at a choice of the optimum series of measures, directed on a conclusion in Chechen Republic of all spheres in life activity on a way of dynamical development and growth.

Keywords: Chechen Republic, demographic situation, population standard of living, the industry, agriculture, building, transport and communication, manufacture of the goods and services, the prices and tariffs, financial activity, a labour market.
