Estimation of social stratification of the Russian society in conditions of social and economic transformations (on the example of the Penza region)

In this article necessity of the social status estimation of the individual being the indicator of the person ability to satisfy various kinds of needs and causing a place of the person in a modern society is proved. The author's technique of definition of the social status of the individual is offered, in which basis such parameters as the income, property potential, living conditions, education and a post are put. Results of social stratification estimation of a society are submitted (on an example of the Penza Region) as a result of which the following social classes are revealed and described - the lowest, lower than average, average, above the average and supreme.
