The article gives a general description of market segments of pipes on the principle of classification according to branches of pipe (mechanical engineering, oil and gas, utilities), examine the current state of affairs in the pipe industry in Russia at the present stage. On the basis of the analysis identified factors that facilitate and impede the development and effective functioning of enterprises pipe industry of Russia in the financial crisis. The authors propose a creative approach to the allocation of public policies to support enterprises pipe industry in modern conditions.
