The results of the research carried out in the Altay customs are presented here. The aims of the research were to find out the priority valuable orientations of the employees and their influence on labour productivity; to reveal the basic motives of the professional choice of the candidates to the service in the customs and their interaction with valuable orientations; to define the basic motives of the employees work and their interaction with valuable orientations; to calculate the average motivated potential of the employees work.
