Polarizing development of territories and regions makes necessary the creation of the effective mechanism of smoothing of polarization on different levels of economy as a base of a policy of regional development. Consequences of polarization of social and economic development in conditions of depressed region, and methods of typology of territories of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) on degree of their polarization in dynamics for 5 years for the further definition of priority directions of regional support are considered in the article.
