City strategic planning: old problems and new threats in the conditions of global macroeconomic instability

The strategic planning that has recommended itself as a system of business structure management, today is actively used by public authorities and local governments. However today in crisis situation strategic process changes essentially. A lot of cities completely refuse the idea of strategic planning, when others prefer making changes to methodological structure of strategic process. The author tries to analyze the most interesting changes in city’s strategies in connection with world financial crisis.
