The article focuses on theory-methodology aspects of the stable development assessment of rural territories. The need for the cumulative indicator of assessment defining and the comparability of results on the analyzed objects providing is proved. The process of typology and the typological approach towards development assessment of rural territories is shown. The cumulative assessment model of stable development of rural territories by means of the typological approach is presented; the integral total of assessment indicators of rural territories development is stated.
