In the article the author analyses the forms of the economic crisis' manifestation in the St.-Petersburg industry. Special attention is paid to the forms of the government support of the industry. The author produces his own assessment of the crisis' consequences and suggests the fundamental change of the industrial policy. The latter, in author’s opinion, embodies the “framework” system, which the state designates for all the industry’s business entities. In the crisis environment the industrial policy must be active. This is predetermined by the increase of the role of the state in these extreme conditions.
