The estimation of the state of cattle breeding in Penza region is given. The reasons of the low efficiency of cattle breeding production are shown on the basis of classification depending on efficiency. Correlation-regressive analysis of the relationship between feeding and cattle performance is done. The suggested rations should increase cattle efficiency. The main directions of the cattle breeding development on the basis of regional programs are shown.
