The article studies the problems of innovative cluster formation and its influence on the economy innovative development. Regional innovative cluster (RIC) is a subsystem of the regional innovation system; it combines its members` joint efforts in competitive science intensive production. Geographical closeness of its members effects a lot on the RIC functioning. As far as RIC accumulates its innovative potential its influence on the regional competitiveness increases.
