Formation of innovation economic and in particular activization of the building sector as the way of innovative development is the pressing problem for today. Within the bounds of it the problem of low building as one of overcoming the crisis ways is examined, aspects of cottage building in Russia and Tatarstan are analysed is considered. The conclusion that the complex approach to building is much more favourable, rather than point, however at all positive tendencies in cottage building is drawn, essential backwardness a segment is noted.
