The sharpest ecological and social problems connected with development of diamond deposits in Yakutia are considered. The practical measures accepted by the state, under indemnification of an ecological and social damage from activity of the diamond-mining industry and its infrastructural branches are analyzed. Necessity of carrying out of socially focused policy for stabilization of ecological and social conditions in region is proved.
