Methodological characteristics and performance features of local public sector in municipal economy

Functional mission of the public sector, including production and distribution of public goods, reallocation of resources, is reflected most clearly within the frame of urban economic area. Methodological characteristics and elements of the local public sector were analyzed; its basic goal, subject-object parameters were determined in the article. It was concluded that local public sector has all features of integral system, including definition of objectives, functional set. System nature of performance of the sector enables to determine principal trend of economic development of municipal unit with respect of focusing on effective production of public goods, more completely satisfying collective wants of local community.
