In an article the questions of economy connected with food independence and development of the industry of meat processing of the Russian Federation and Mari El Republic are considered. On dynamics and structure of manufacture of meat production data are presented to the Russian Federation. The balance of resources of meat production is present.The given problems is actual for the economists, prosecute subjects of food independence, and for the enterprises of meat processing.
