Social-economic development of the Republic of Karelia: problems of regional competitiveness

A problem of competitiveness of regions of Russian Federation acquires presently large actuality, attract attention both at federal level and at the level of subjects of federation. Difference of social-economic development of regions is one of the most important problems of Russian reality. The article is devoted the problems of competitiveness of the Republic of Karelia as a border-line region of the North-western Federal district. The article describes the analysis of social-economic position of region, development of foreign economic activity and international cooperation, suggestions of perfection of competition positions of region and achievement of stable development.
