Article is devoted to the special features of the process of strategic planning of development of the territories – cities and regions. Special attention the author gives to drawing up of algorithm of the strategic planning as bases of all process of planning of the territorial development on long-term prospect. The author carries out the critical analysis of existing methodical approaches to strategic planning of territorial development and offers his own variant of the algorithm of strategic planning.
