The article studies the problems of providing presonnel for one of the Russian regions' econnomy, for Karelia. The author describes the results within the Persident's programme of the professional education for a new level of highly educated specialists, managers with the new mentality, interested in achieveing the best results in their field. This article characterises this programme in comparison with the other educational schemes. It shows the results of implementation of the state plan of preparing the management personnel for the Karelia Republic.
