Current Condition and Development Prospects of the Russian System of Large Industrial Cities

The article analyses the current condition of the Russian system of large cities, evaluates the degree of their specialization in terms of industry, the current and potencial tendencies of its transformation. It offers and tests the methodological approach to evaluating the industrial specialization level of the large cities economy, based on calculating their share in the all-Russian industry. It defines the key characteristics of the national big cities system.
