The authors define and analyse the factors defining the peat use as an energy source: organizational, economical, energy and ecological. The method of hyerarchy analysis allows to define the priority fuels for Kostroma region. The most promising in terms of optimal fuel supply for the region is the growing production and consumption of peat bricks. Business planning helps to evaluate the economical efficiency of constructing a small peat bricks TPP.
