Subject. This article discusses the nuclear energy in Russia and France. Objectives. The study aims to explore cooperation and competition between Russia and France in the field of nuclear energy, and identify the problems and cooperation prospects in this area. Methods. For the study, we used the methods of synthesis, systematic and comparative data analyses, induction and deduction, historical and chronological analyses. Results. The article describes the chronological period of Russian-French relations in the field of nuclear energy, and gives their forecast. Conclusions. Although some aspects of the partnership are preserved, it is not yet possible to speak about the resumption of full-scale cooperation between Russia and France in the field of nuclear energy. Russia and France are competing for uranium suppliers and the construction of new nuclear power plants in other countries.
