Subject. This article focuses on the gradual degradation of consumer protection in Russia in 2022–2026. Objectives. The study aims to analyze the process of weakening consumer protection in the Russian Federation in 2022–2026, identify its key legal and institutional mechanisms, and assess the economic and social consequences. Methods. For the study, I used methods of analysis and synthesis, a systematic approach and special legal and economic methods. Results. The article considers causes and mechanisms of consumer protection degradation. It also proposes institutional mechanisms to overcome the problems of weakening consumer protection, and shows its possible consequences. Conclusions. The process of weakening consumer protection is complex and simultaneously covers the legislative level, law enforcement, and the institutional architecture.
