Subject. This article discusses the state, stages and directions of development of the social insurance system in the Russian Federation.
Objectives. The study aims to analyze the problems that arise in the process of interaction between the insurer and the policyholder during the assignment of benefits, and find ways to eliminate them.
Methods. For the study, we used general scientific methods.
Results. The article reveals that the conditions for assigning and calculating benefits are complex and incomprehensible to policyholders and insured persons. It also proposes a new approach to the process of assigning and paying social benefits, aimed at creating an effective mechanism for the exchange of information in the implementation of State support for citizens.
Conclusions. There are factors that negatively affect the mechanism of assigning and paying social benefits. The study proposes approaches to optimize the proactive process of assigning and paying insurance coverage, which will facilitate the effective exchange of information and reduce deadlines in the process of assigning and paying benefits.
