Clarifying the concept of Import Substitution from the legal and macroeconomic perspectives

Subject. This article discusses the Import Substitution concept clarification.
Objectives. The study aims to clarify the concept of Import Substitution from the legal and macroeconomic perspectives.
Methods. For the study, we used the abstract-logical and monographic methods.
Results. The article presents and substantiates an author's approach to defining the concept of Import Substitution from legal and macroeconomic perspectives. It implies interpreting import substitution as a mechanism that requires the presence of goals, principles, and other properties.
Conclusions. The results of the study allow for a new interpretation of import substitution and can help improve government policy.
