Subject. This article discusses attributive characteristics of a creative worker as a key element in the service industry development.
Objectives. The study aims to present the substantive characteristics, roles, and positions of a creative worker in the service industry.
Methods. For the study, we used a systems method, service theory, creative class theory, content analysis, and analysis of online job vacancies data.
Results. The article substantively defines the categories of service and the service industry, and presents their main features. It also systematizes the key requirements for job applicants in the service industry.
Conclusions. The most in-demand skills for workers in the service sector are responsiveness and teamwork. Personnel should possess business communication skills, and use a creative approach to problem-solving.
