Subject. This article discusses the regulatory and economic mechanisms to counter the use of multiplayer online games for laundering proceeds from crime as a threat to the economic security of the Russian Federation. Objectives. The study aims to develop proposals for administrative and economic regulation of the multiplayer online games sector based on an assessment of their impact on the economic security of Russia. Methods. For the study, we used the methods of regulatory and legal analysis, system data analysis, as well as scientific publications by domestic and foreign authors. Results. The article substantiates that the implementation of regulatory and legal proposals to counteract negative factors in the field of multiplayer online games will help reduce the economic criminalization level, and offers recommendations for strengthening control and supervisory activities in the field of multiplayer online games. Conclusions. A comprehensive implementation of mechanisms for regulating the field of multiplayer online games is necessary. The obtained results can help the State authorities of the Russian Federation to analyze, monitor, and regulate this field in order to reduce economic criminalization and ensure national economic interests.
