Subject. This article discusses indicators of processing by domestic vertically integrated oil companies.
Objectives. The study aims to assess the process of Russian vertically integrated oil companies refining capacities modernization.
Methods. For the study, I used the methods of comparative analysis and generalization of information from the State authorities and domestic vertically integrated oil companies.
Results. It is necessary to change the approach to the process of modernizing the processing capacities of Russian vertically integrated oil companies.
Conclusions. It is necessary to decide which specific refining products should be produced, where exactly, and in what volumes from the standpoint of ensuring the proper development of the country. It is also required to focus on domestic technologies and initially concentrate on developing capacities in the Far East and Eastern Siberia.
