Subject. This article discusses the energy security term definition in accordance with economic and political interests.
Objectives. The study aims to comprehensively study the problem of energy security.
Methods. For the study, we used the methods of logical analysis and a systems approach.
Results. The article compares various definitions of the Energy Security concept and modern academic and scientific approaches, and provides the author's understanding of the terms Energy Security and the Foreign Economic Energy Security Dimension.
Conclusions. The discussion on defining energy security needs to be expanded to include the issue of ensuring the energy supply chains security integrity. The proposed definitions offer a new perspective on studying this problem. One can use the research results in the educational process, by interested parties and structures within the energy sector, as well as in the development of international and national energy strategies.
