Subject. This article focuses on the international economic relations of the Russian Federation in the field of hydropower. Objectives. The article aims to analyze Russia's cooperation with foreign countries in the field of hydropower and determine the role of the country in the development of the hydropower sector abroad. Methods. For the study, we used a literature review, a systems approach to data analysis and synthesis, and induction and deduction methods. Results. The article identifies key regions and countries where hydropower projects involve Russian specialists, the implementation mechanisms of these projects, and the contribution of the Russian Federation to the development of global hydropower. Conclusions. The Russian engineering school has a huge influence on the hydropower industry development worldwide. Russian hydropower companies provide a full range of engineering services in foreign countries. The results of the study can be useful for specialized universities, governmental bodies, and enterprises operating in global hydropower markets.
